A note for Petzval-photographers:
The reproduction of the lens calculated in 1840 by Joseph Petzval has a slide-in aperture according to the Waterhouse system. If one makes pictures in portrait format or carries the camera with a wrist strap the actually used aperture plate is lost easely. But there is a trick: This cannot happen if the focus is set to the closest distance after the shot.
